My savings with coupons by combining store sales, coupons and store rewards!

I am so excited about the savings on these items.  It did require me to go to several different stores; but they were all close by each other except for 1 and it was not far from my house.  It was well worth it! I had several coupons that were going to expire on the 31st so I went shopping for the items I could get really cheap or free.  Here is the breakdown:

Fixodent: 4 were free, 2 cost me $0.47 each (Purchased at 2 different stores because there was a limit of 4 like coupons per shopping trip / per day.) Total Cost: $0.94

Fixodent: 4 @ $0.40 each because they were on sale and I had a $1.25 coupon for each one. Total Cost: $1.60

Right Guard Deodorant: 4 FREE!  I had a BOGO Free coupon and the drug store had it on sale for BOGO Free.  I asked the manager if I could use this coupon with their special and they said YES!  Each one also came with a FREE trial size body wash on the back of the deodorant package WOW!  I used 2 coupons and got 4 FREE.Total Cost: $0.00

Aquafresh Kids Toothpaste:  3 FREE!  They were on sale for $0.99 and I had a $1.00 off coupon for each. Total Cost: $0.00

Excedrin: 4 @ $2.49 each for the large quantity.  I had a $3.00 off in-store coupon, a $1.50 off newspaper manufacturer coupon, plus I had $8.00 in Register Rewards that I used. (I did have to go to 2 different stores within a few miles of each other because there was a limit of 3 per shopping trip.) My total cost for 4 large bottles of Excedrin was: $9.96!  One bottle normally cost almost this much.

Icy Hot: 6 FREE!  These are the smaller sizes (great to donate or take when traveling).  They were on sale for $0.99 and I had a $1.00 off coupon for each one.  Total cost: $0.00

Oral B tootbrush: 4 @ $0.24.  I had coupons and there was an in store promotion, plus rewards. Total cost: $0.96

OFF - Instore coupon for $1.00 and manufacture coupon for $0.75 made this only: $3.24.  This was not as big of a savings but I needed to buy one anyway to keep mosquitoes off my daughter when playing outside.

Covergirl Makeup: 2 - These were on sale for $3.50 and I had a $1.00 off coupon on each which made them $2.50; however I had an overage on the Fixodent cleansers because they were on sale for $2.50 and I had a coupon for $3.00 off each 1 x 4.  This gave me a $2.00 overage that I was able to apply to my makeup.  Leaving me with a total cost of only: $3.00 ($1.50 for each mascara makeup).

Pantene Shampoo & Conditioner:  3  of each:  I purchased these at different stores with a $3.00 off 2 coupon and combining it with store sales.  2 stores I was able to use my store rewards/extra bucks that I had saved in addition to the sale and coupon.  My total cost for all 6 bottles (3 of each) was: $6.88 this came to about $1.15 a bottle.

Crest Toothpaste:  2 - Item was on sale plus I had coupons and extra rewards I could use towards my cost resulting in both for FREE.

Strawberries: 3 @ $1.25 at Wal-Mart. I got 3 because this price is really cheap and I can wash, cut and freeze for eating later. (No coupon) Total cost $3.75

Pert 2-in-1 trial size shampoo bottles (3): FREE; Cost in store was $0.97 each and I had a $1.00 off coupon for each. Total Cost: $0.00

Ivory Soap 3 bar - 1 - I had a $1.00 off coupon and it cost $0.99 = Total cost of $0.00

Bread - 1 @ $1.50 (no coupon) Total Cost: $1.50

Total Cost for all of these items was only: $31.83 plus I got back $8.00 in store rewards to use later which made my total cost only: $23.83

These items would normally retail for over $140.00+ with no sales or coupons, according to different store prices.

I have learned to save my Extra Bucks from CVS and my Rewards from Walgreens to accumulate enough so I can use them towards my out of pocket cost on items that are on sale.  This way I can use my manufacture coupons and the rewards on the sale items.  Of course they will expire so I make sure I use them before they do.  By saving them I was able to get all of this stuff at a huge discount when combined with the different store sales and my coupons.  Of course 2 of the stores did not offer or accept rewards.

Feel free to share your savings here on the blog as well. :-)

God bless,

Lynn
